Khan looked like he took stronger punches from a stronger puncher in Peterson but he just didnt recover at all from that thirds round knockdown...should he go back to Ariza?

khans conditioning?

Khan never had good conditioning. In both the Peterson and Maidana bouts he controlled the early going only to tire out and let his opponent back into the fight. Either way there is probably no physcal trainer that can help Khan where he really needs it. Sooner or later he is going to going to take a punch again. That is the nature of the game.

Khan took stronger punches from fighters when he was being supplied special shakes from Alex Ariza and more importantly, was not undergoing strict random drug testing from USADA and/or VADA. Now suddenly, he takes this USADA testing and can't take hard punches like he used to!

A drugged Peterson fought a drugged Amir Khan. The drugged Amir Khan can take tough punches! But the clean Amir Khan cannot! This is the clean Amir Khan we saw tonight. Why are people so blind?

fact of the matter is a clean, accurate counterpuncher was always going to give a gung-ho, chinny, offensive fighter like khan nightmares.
once upon a time fans on these boards could actually make decent analysis of a fight and break it down. heck, reading these boards was more insightful than reading some experts analysis.
seriously people need to stop jumping on the PED bandwagon. someone has a bad performance and their off PED's, someones has a good one it must mean that their on PED's.
peterson is a good fighter with plenty of pop but his power is not the sort that will knock a guy flat out (e.g. martinez, haye, klitchsko). his knock outs come from his strength at the 140lb weight class and the cumulative effect of his shots and strength (e.g. fighters like cotto, pavlik, froch are the same)
other fighters like pacman, martinez, haye tend to score the KO with their speed.Last edited by hookoutofhell; 07-15-2012, 04:54 AM.

Now if Khan re-links with Ariza and does not use USADA or VADA for a fight, I guarantee you he'll suddenly be a beastly machine again!
