I'm leaving from Dallas on Saturday and driving to Ruidoso, New Mexico

Rented a little cabin with a nice patio view. Probably going to have a decent drinking session on the patio and do some grilling. I just need to get away, man. Haven't been far away from Dallas in a really long time. It'll be nice just to get out on the open road. And the weather is a lot better up in those mountains obviously than Dallas. Going to Santa Fe for a day after a couple of days in Ruidoso. Heard good things about both towns -- that they're cool and unique towns.

Not the most jaw dropping vacation but it'll be a nice little quick getaway I think. I need to clear my head.

It was great, man. Beautiful area. If one is into nature and gorgeous views, then it's high level stuff. Felt like I was in Colorado. They got lakes, mountains, vast forests, great wildlife. Heck they even got a luxury casino resort and a five star golf course. It was vibrant too -- even with covid in effect. That didn't seem to be slowing anyone from getting out and enjoying themselves. Will be back.

I also stopped by Santa Fe for a night and ended up driving right by Jeffrey Epstein's (former) New Mexico ranch. There was a large gate blocking the entrance, complete with several very direct signs about how trespassers will be prosecuted...complete with a couple of cameras focused on the gate. You could see the sprawling compound off in the distance. It was eerie thinking about him going through that gate...or trafficked underage girls being driven through that gate...possibly by Ghislane Maxwell herself. It was in the middle of nowhere out by itself like 40 miles from Santa Fe.

And yeah man a thousand a night is absurd...and well above my pay grade.
