The school qualified for the funding based on district policy. The changes means they are no longer eligible for the funding under the same district policy. The policy was created in 1978 to offset the lack of funding in predominantly minority schools.

It seems clear, except if your Fox News and you are pandering to white racists that like to pretend they are victims, that the district doesn’t qualify anymore because they don’t have the required percentage of minority students.

I’ve never worked for California’s education system, but my guess is the funding that will be cut will be things like Bilingual teachers, ESL assistants, bilingual counselors etc.

Makes sense if you think about it. If your school is no longer in need of bilingual Teachers why continue to pay? They generally cost more and only serve a specific population. Again I’m not sure, how hey will do the cuts, but in rearranging their budget they may find money to fulfill the current needs of their changing demographics.
