I don't feel they really captured my essence and what I'm all about.

Freedom generally has good taste in films though.

Shame is brilliant. Saw it a few weeks ago.

Saw it yesterday. Dark & depressing.

One scene he's about to **** a black woman but can't get it up, and then the next scene he's going hard inside a white woman. Extremely racist.

lol. The black woman he had respect for. The white woman was a prostitute or someone he just picked up (cant remember which now). The idea is, he can only have emotionless, impersonal sex, and seems scared of love and affection.
The whole theme of the film is that him and his sister are sexually dysfunctional due to some **** that happened to them in the past. Some dark secret they share.
Or at least thats what i got from it.

Anyway, i didnt think it was about race at all. Could be wrong.

                    No. Nothing like that.

He is just a Porn/sex addict and she is suicidal. No dark secret.

But your right about the black woman. She is his co-worker and he actually went out on a date with her, being forced to small talk and open up. He tried that routine with a little help from Cocaine, but it didn't work. And then he went back into Porn mode, pounding away a call girl American Psycho style.

I was actually joking dood lol... but only after I read an analysis about it. To be honest, I wasn't really into it. For a film about sex addiction, or so the OP claims, it had very little sex in it. At the time I did think it was about her race (that he couldn't get it up), but I wasn't looking into it too deeply because the whole film from start to finish just had such a depressing feel.

I think you couldn't be more wrong. There is something in both their pasts that is STRONGLY hinted at. She says to him "we're not bad people, we just come from a bad place".
