  • Why did Marcianos punches hurt the arms so much?

    [IMG][/IMG]

Was it because of his training on such a heavy bag? Building extreme isometric strength?

Or was it because he used vertical fists and the jack Dempsey power line on nearly all his punches?

    Or both?

Or for other reasons? What are they?

It's because he hit his opponents in the arms.

seriously you are probably close rocky was very heavy handed and one of the most dedicated fighters in regards to conditioning. If an opponent hid behind his guard
rocky would simply throw hard punches with bad intentions as seen in the first walcot fight he carried his power into the later rounds.

I like your simplification, but many other fighters hit to the arms, but only Rocky was known to really hurt you there.

Right but unlike many other fighters Rocky didn't care where he landed as long as he was landing punches, if the arms were a target or in the way too hitting his target Rocky would try too go through them like a wrecking ball.

Going into late rounds your arms are going to get fatigued just holding them up and if anyone hits you on the arms for long enough it's going to ****ing hurt, nevermind a professional athlete known for hitting hard and relentless pressure.

If you have ever received punches into the front your shoulder. floating rib and elbows repeatedly you'd understand why hard punchers wanted to hit you "anywhere"!
The second value is to see how your opponents balance is maintained along with his counter punch abilities.
Most fighters especially heavyweights today shy away from a high work rate as if their afraid of exchange. I can understand that if their chins aren't durable!

Of course if you've never been in the ring before it's difficult to comment with any integrity attached yet there are kids here who have an answer for everything even when its clear that they know NOTHING about the sport!

Trolling? You essentially tried calling every one out.

Just a little tired of seeing you devote all of your posts on why nobody should listen to any one other than you.
