  • Crawford vs Errol Spence is NOT a super mega fight

On paper this fight is one of the best if not the best in boxing BUT No casual knows who TF these two are. Bet they walk down the street and nobody even looks twice at them, apart from thirsty girls. This super fight won't get the numbers and money it deserves. This is why this fight won't happen until at least another 2 or 3 fights down the line. They need to hype this thing up. Boxing is a business. Long way to go till this fight happens.

Why do you care? Are you getting paid based on ticket sales?

Two American fighters typically doesn’t lead to a mega fight

but but but wait doe, if they beat a couple more bums each its suddenly gonna turn into some massive blockbuster event that was worth all the marination or something like that. thats why it cant happen next.

It’s not about that it’s about being realistic and not accusing either fighter of ducking the other when the fight doesn’t happen in the next year or so.

of course it's not. It will be a huge fight among boxing fans. the casual market won't care. Neither guy will crossover to the mainstream culture, they just haven't got the personality or image that it takes to do that.

Even GGG v Canelo is still more of a fans fight than casuals really. It had a bit of crossover but not much. Neither are notable figures in worldwide popular culture like Floyd or McGregor or people like that. Canelo might be among Mexicans, but that's it.

It's very hard to get to that level where your involved in super fights that attract the average man on the street. It takes a lot of ingredients to make that happen, so it very very rarely does.

This is a hardcore fight fan’s superfight. But yea in terms of sales, it certainly wouldnt do milliOns or anything. It would do like 200k at best.

Who da fuk is Crawford? Neither of these guys have personalities and arent superstar materials.

Crawford has a personality of a fkin wood and is like the worst dressed boxer of all time. Guys like him dont become stars regardless of how good they are at their craft.

Don't care. It's on my top 3 of fights I want to see right now alongside Joshua / Wilder and Garcia / Lomachenko

In the history of PPV you can count the major attractions on one hand.

Not becoming a PPV star is not a knock since its so rare.

Roy Jones was damn near invincible in his prime and never did half the numbers of Oscar.

In this era you have Canelo and he stands alone.

but I expect Arum to build this into something bigger regardless.
