  • Did Wladimir took his style from Tuney? ?

Tunney was imo first fighter to use style ala Floyd ,Hit and hug, he outboxed Dempsy with it quite comfortable .Wlad used it All the Time, also Ali took something from Tunney (who had good footwork ) .Tunney Also almost unbeaten but had greater opponents that his studets like Wlad and Floyd ,and Finaly lost with Great Harry Greb 1 arguebly 2 many people thought that Greb was robbed in rematch .

Tunney was much more skilled and versatile.. He could actually beat bigger guys..

Wlad just has a huge size advantage, and suffocates smaller fighters when they get close.

Im not saying Wlad is more skilled ,but he took some things from Tunney or Steward took things from Gene ,and teached Wlad about it ,Tunney only lose was smaller Man doe. The way Wlad set ppl on right hand is familiar.

He just did whatever Manny Steward told him to do.

Whether it was from Tunney I'm not sure, there isn't a huge amount of tape of him, it's probably stuff Steward picked up from being around Eddie Futch and Joe Louis and adapted to a guy who couldn't fight inside. Tunney could fight on the inside and fought in the clinch against Dempsey. Wlad just leans on you.

Agree, but Tunney is not bigger then Dempsey (not much so he couldnt just lean on him ).imo it was steward who picked up this things ,setting up rivals on right ,this one tape from Dempsy fight is Gold doe, Tunney was more complete fighter no daubt .

Not at all, Wlad took his style from the great soviet amateur school, then Steward teach him some of the old detroit tricks, mostly the use of the lead and the straight right.
