  • Comments Thread For: Nonito Donaire on Facing Rigondeaux: It Would Be Easy!

After his dominating third round knockout win that sent Mexican warrior Jorge Arce to retirement, the focus turns to what's next in line for Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire, Jr. for 2013 as he continues his rise to recognition as one of this era's elite boxers.

A couple of marquee names laid for Donaire by fans of the sweet science are that of WBA jr. featherweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux, and WBC jr. featherweight champion Abner Mares, both unbeaten and highly-regarded fighters.

I like how Donaire when asked about Mares says "I've been telling my promoter about wanting those fights" with Arum literally standing right there with a "F.uck...." look on his face lol.

I think Nonito honestly would fight anyone they put in front of him.

            Nonito is right
people are hyping Rigo based on amateur credentials
he's beaten no one to make you think he'd beat Nonito
Nonito is a bigass guy for 122, he'd be too strong for Rigo
might take him a while to find Rigo's chin with the big shots
but he would get him outta there eventually
don't see Rigo doing much but getting KO'd or stinking it out to a UD loss

I've seen Rigo train and fight up close and personal. Dude is very skilled yet very, very passive when it comes to fight time. I don't think we've gotten a chance to see Rigo in with quality talent to show what he really has as a Pro. Him jumping into a fight with Donaire IMO would be trouble. Rigo is small in comparison to Donaire.

Abner Mares is the fight to see. FOTY candidate for 2013 material.

Rigo will be exposed. Jumping from Mirriquin to Donaire isn't a joke.
