The East back then had 3 legit title contenders. Bulls, Celtics, and Low Heat

At that time, before the season started, only the Lakers and Spurs. The 3 seeded Mavericks made it out of the west

Dirk because in the end? He stuck it out with a franchise that had its highs and lows. They competed with those Sacramento, Laker, Spurs teams and came up short because physically he didn't have it. He was the centerpiece in that Dallas series and patented a move that allowed for him to maximize his skills. He was really supposed to lose that year.

KD made a smart move going to GS, but his career isn't respected because of how much he went to a team that didn't necessarily need him to win two easy rings. His career is sewn up. He doesn't respect his rings because he knows that he took the easiest route to win.

Plus let me chime in with this, what was the purpose of leaving OKC to sign with GS? He knew that as a player, he wasn't a leader, nor did he have the confidence to win vs GS and beat LeBron in the finals. He has admitted he didn't feel any different after he won. He went online and argued with people and created burner accounts because he knew he couldn't argue against what he did.

You went to a team that built themselves up after you. Your team had success before them. You don't have that confidence as a singular athlete on the team to go lead your team to uncharted territory. His numbers are high because the team did not need him. There is a reason GM's, Coaches and any other staff in-between aren't allowed to talk to players in the regular season, so how does a man leave a team up on this squad 3-1 to sign with a team who you can easily say, he stopped competing against?

KD pretty much ruined his own legacy. He won his championships but 20 years from now, no one will be talking about him.

They'll still talk about Lebron and Steph but KD will be an afterthought even with his rings.
This is pure blinded hate lol.

People will just forget about KD. 😁

Hate on KD all you want but he's a future ATG who's probably gonna finish his career with 4-5 rings. He'd be Charles Barkley had he stayed with OKC. I hate The Warriors as much as the next guy but let's keep it 100 here.

                  They will. Its reality.

No one talks carl malone or john stockton. No one remembered oscar until it fits the stats narrative.

No one knows who the logo is.

Everyone forgets Wilt and Kareem had careers before LA.

Anyone remember gary payton? The ones that dont think Wade was the first to play the way he did in his prime.

                  List goes on and on.

People will talk Steph before KD. Just like Jordan before Pip, Rodman etc. Etc.

What are you talking about? People who know basketball still talk about all of those guys. Yeah sure, nobody remembers Karl Malone and Kareem today? LMAO.

Maybe the casuals only bring up guys like Jordan, Bird, Magic, ect. but that's with every sport. Durant will keep racking up rings and go down as an all time great. Sure don't think he's worried about the internet not bringing him up every hour. Poor guy.

Dirks ring over KD's 2 and it's not even close. Down 2-1 in the series LeBron and a Dwade were mocking him of the cold that he had when they were walking in to the locker room before game 4 fake coughing and laughing saying must be sick or something. Dirk took there fooking hearts out and stomped them in front of the nba world.
