  • 2016 Oscars and black actor ommission?

    Will Smith in Concussion
Idris Elba in Beasts of Nation
    Michael B. Jordan in Creed
    Straight Outta Compton actors

All 4 are highly rated movies by most top movie critics and websites. What does this mean, that they are not in the running for an Oscar? Is it racism, or a coincidence? Were the films just 'too black' for the actors to be nominated? Stallone will be nominated for best supporting actor in the Oscars for Creed, but the director of the movie who is black, and the star of the movie who is black, will not be nominated for best actor/best director. Will Smith and Idris Elba, two top actors in top movies, also aren't getting best actor nominations.

No, none of those movies had any Oscar performances... Leo has been snubbed by the Oscars for years... That's not racism... Just politics... Hopefully he gets it this year

I think it comes down to where they better than the five men nominated already nominated.

Peoole are just looking at the biggest movies featuring black actors and than saying why wasn't this person nominated. Can someone seriously say Michael B or any of the actors from SOC deserve an award? There roles weren't exactly has to portray.

The only guy on that list who truly, truly deserved the nod was Elba and I think the only reason he wasn't nominated was because Beasts of A Nation is a web film and it's going to take along time for web service movies to be nominated for awards.

As for everyone else just no. There's been years black directors and actors have been snubbed. Spike Lee and Denzel should have won for Malcolm X but didn't. But none of the actors this year outright deserve the nod.

Can't really blame racism this year because many Latino actors/directors have been nominated.

Here comes the crying and complaining.

Where's the complaining when there weren't any black actors "nominated" for Razzies.

Why is it that people ask "Where's the diversity?!?" then only mention black actors while they themselves don't mention Benicio Del Toro, who by the way had a better performance in Sicario than Will Smith and his ****ty accent, or Micheal B Jordon or the Straight outta Compton actors.

There's a whole Mexican team that made the Revenant (Inarritu, Chivo, etc) that are nominated, so people need to quit their *****ing about the Oscars and it's lack of diversity.

Del Toro was a beast but not Oscar worthy... The girl had a better performance...
