In March 2017 a British Muay Thai fighter, Jordan Coe, died of dehydration after a random training session. Imagine if you're in a pro boxing match at the higher levels of the sport, you're severely dehydrated, and fighting a monster puncher like Wilder too, it's certainly plausible that you could reach near fatal levels of dehydration.

And if he was on the verge of death he surely would have passed out or been brutally knocked out.

Wilder almost killed Stiverne last time. That's scary.

As the trainer said in the interview what the doctor told him : normal level is 200 - 250. Stiverne was at 3000. Blackout level is 3500. Death level is 4000.

Ok cool so he wasn't 'on the verge of death' then, thanks for the confirmation!

He was "verging on near-death levels" which is different from saying "on the verge of death". Check the original post. And you're welcome.

Fair enough but in the title you said close to death.
