Of course in reality being manly is control and social/financial independence. Developing functional intelligence instead (how to control others) instead of superficial intelligence (parroting PC/pop-culture viewpoints and waiting for a cookie). The agrarian revolution was too recent (adjusted for human reproductive generations) to significantly affect deep interpersonal mechanics. Many people without a real grasp of evolution seem to think it happens a lot more quickly and dramatically than it actually does. Those usually decades-long shifts in gender discourse (not really roles, just lie-filled discourse) have absolutely zero effect since they barely span a generation and are themselves just reluctant responses to short-term economic outlook.

We have NOT caught up with our current societal norms. Women still refuse sex from "nice friendly guys" because of a hardwired paleolithic attraction to warriors that will still be there another 10,000 years from now. What we call "beta cucks" are essentially escapists who lacking the faculty to compete socially, improvised novel talents/gadgets to make people raise an eyebrow then go back to ignoring them.

Of course "the patriarchy" exists, it's called **** sapiens. We are a patriarchal species and cannot properly function otherwise.

As a basic primer on evolutionary biology and psychology I recommend EO Wilson. It might offend you if you're a liberal (it's quite ironic that once they read about it, evolution offends liberals much, much more than religion does), but it's a healthy growing experience.

Modern, US-influenced left/right paradigms experience an interesting paradox. The anti-white and anti-Christian "counter-culture" of the 1960s-current basically defaulted to an alliance with evolutionary theory (thus God isn't real, we are all apes, etc.). They skimmed those 2 lines off the surface but aggressively suppress the rest. Nearly every right-wing policy can trace its origins to evolutionary biologists and psychologists with the exception of the Planned Parenthood issue which is the left's one saving grace.
