All forums should be obligated to hear out what I have to say, regardless of how ignorant, malformed, or offensive my opinions may be. It is important that racebaiting and harassment be completely tolerated as that leads to high quality discussions around the issues.

I've stated many times on this site that I don't think public assistance is anywhere near the burden Republicans make it out to be. I really DON'T care who gets more foodstamps. I had read information suggesting that red states/counties are the real welfare queens and I brought it up because Republicans are always whining about "them thar lazy moochin' coloreds queers and libtards". It turns out, there appears to be quite a bit of conflicting information on the subject. Now if I am ultimately wrong, fine. But that does not change how I feel about welfare in general.

Welfare is not the cause of our financial problems but yet if you ask why someone votes Republican, there's a good chance that the first thing they'll bring up is welfare. Reducing it significantly wouldn't put a dent in the amount of taxes one pays.
