Big difference between newspaper articles concerning a potential fight vs the fight actually occurring. You inferred Dempsey and Johnson actually fought. They did not. Again just like every night on aol boxing YOU LIED.

A snippet from one source who thinks the bout occurred is meaningless. Is there EVIDENCE the bout occurred? You can find in the past 100 years an opinion on any subject in all possible directions. As an example one could say that Dempsey hit Sharkey in the balls to win that fight. However if you look at all the first hand accounts and other post fight happenings you get the true picture. Several days after the both the film was shown at Yankee stadium for the press. Headlines ...."film of fight shows body blows were legal". Also Sharkeys trunks were worn high to help him with body blows. If you watch the last three body blows there is no indication the were low.... beltline punches. (And the ref concurred).
