Ill be honest i like canelo more then chavez.i think he's fought the better comp but NOT ON TITLE LEVEL.especially beating a guy at a lower weight which julito didn't do but we all know abt the title free giveaway sweepstakes.however how long did chavez take to even dare to make this move vs canelo is what ppl should be asking themselves? From now and on i expect canelo to face the better opposition.the only reason why chavez has even stepped uo to the plate is to not get left behind as mexico's next cash cow.

JCC Jr. has so many fights under his belt and he finally has a win over a better opponent in his last fight and looked like he deserves to fight on Telefutura for the rest of his career.
At least Canelo was able to put out Baldomir, albeit shot and past prime but only the second time in his career since last being knocked out. I think I remember Lampley mentioning something like that as well.

Chavez Jr. He's manufactured off of his name and has had to rely upon questionable decisions for two of his fights (Zbik and Vanda). He doesn't seem interested in fighting anyone world class, even the guy who he stole the belt from.
Alvarez is a legit fighter. Is he overrated? Maybe, but at least he's overrated based upon something other than his dad's reputation. The fact that he's fighting Rhodes says a lot because Rhodes is a very tough challenge and would easily handle Chavez Jr.

Chavez Jr was never a hype job. He developed a super inflated record because he didn't have an AM background to speak of and he made pretty good money fighting weak opponents using his dad's name.
I never heard of Canelo till Floyd was rumored to be looking to fight him. Talented young kid that looked like he'd be something someday, but even now it's too early to tell.
I'll go with Alvarez I guess, but only because I never heard anyone hype Chavez Jr. Though I think Canelo does have more potential.
