  • Would be funny if England's females could win the WC.

Having watched US vs Spain and England vs Cameroon the yankesses are miles ahead.

With the professional league now in England they should catch up in the end.

But that Lavelle (that defo ain’t her name but something like that is a class footballer) and Rapinoe is clever and all those other wenches.

England’s best player is a right back. I’d play her no10. Who gives a s.hit? Lucy Bronze is twice as good as the next best English girl.

Think the England women are the same as the men.

They’re obviously doing the right things and playing the right way but at the minute they’re just short of the extra quality needed.

          • Man looked like an utter bum for the u-21’s

            Admittedly they all did.

That particular generation is the anomaly for England’s development teams in that they’re dreadful. That said they’re inexplicably coached by Aidy Boothroyd. God knows how that’s happened.

Apparently Lampard’s target next season is to avoid relegation. That’s hilarious

              • Boothroyd's last club job was at Northampton where the fans nicknamed him Hoofroyd.

That's quite telling from a club that wouldn't even expect fancy football.

He's gash and it's typical of the FA to hand him an extension on the eve of the tournament.

                • That u-21 is the sort of job that should just have been given to Harry Redknapp until death.

You just need someone to massage egos and build confidence.

Really Southgate and even Phil Neville have proved in terms of a identity and tactics you can only really focus on one thing and hope it snowballs from there. Both have basically just said right our keeper will pass it short. That’s it.

No one has accused Phil Neville of being a football brain.

And that small adjustment has sort of just put England were they should be. Top 8ish in the men’s game. Dunno anything about women’s footie outside of this tourney but from what I’ve seen they’re quarters and semi material from here on out.

Playing out from the back completely shifts the focus from physicality, blood and guts to technique.

It means they’ll nearly always beat teams where they have the better players. It also just creates a culture where kids watching the game expect to see players getting the ball under pressure and when they play expect to receive the ball under pressure.

Also stops Dads in parks telling kids to get rid of it because kick and rush football is now less common place because it doesn’t work

From what I saw Aidy Boothroyd wanted to ‘win’

                  That’s not a culture.

                  • Glad we didn't get bent over the barrel and take United's early offers and stuck to our guns and got good cash for Wan-Bissaka. He's a real player and will be missed, but now we need to use that money to go get my boy Mitrovic

                    • Palace could have probably got a bit more out of United.

a ceiling of £50m for a defender is pretty good bit of money. No matter how I try to look at it. It's more than Stones to City.

whether or not those 5m in add ons can be kicked in is another story though.

Now for Zaha to get his move as well. Feel a bit sorry for Palace in that they lose both of their absolute best players though. Probably gonna get relegated after Zaha is sold.
