Canelo is biggest star in boxing. Ppvs in america are triple the price compared to uk and nelo has no problem sellin out stadium in texas vs someone like kirkland

People only have 1 star they follow, or more if theyre in the same division. Right now in usa its canelo.

Anyway, celebrating stars is bad for boxing. Less stars there are the better matchups we get because fighters and promoters use star power to sell casual fans bs mismatches.

This happens every time in boxing and most sports. After the big superstars retire there is always a lull in excitement for the sport. Joshua and Canelo can become stars but they're both missing an opponent that's equal in popularity to help them make that leap.

Joshua and Canelo are surrounded by ass-whippings.

you can really compare 20,000 or even 51,000 (which has been the biggest crowd at cowboys stadium for a boxing event) to 90,000 every time. Josh in my opinion is the biggest star in boxing... Hearns is doing a hell of a job with AJ. The Arenas in america don't have the capacity for a AJ fight

You have to want to be a star. Being a great fighter isn’t good enough. Look at Broner for example he wanted to be a star. But his problem was he can’t fight.

How about we give it a couple more years?

That 90,000 is achievable in the UK, but certainly NOT in the US. We have too many options and boxing is like the 6th most popular sport here.

Easier to sell out a stadium when the tickets were going for $5 or $10 on fight week. Joshua's stadium fights sell out in a day, at a much higher price.

Also, if you took Joshua's PPV numbers and make it relative population size. He would be doing about 6m buys in USA. Even factoring in the triple prices, you could say that would still end up 2 or 3 million.

He's a bigger star than Canelo. Canelo did have a chance to enhance his stardom though. The GGG fight somewhat crossed over to the casual market and most people felt he got a gift draw and maybe the shine has been taken away.

There was some thing that statistically showed boxing was only about the 9th or 10th most popular sport in the UK.

Football, Cricket, Rugby, Motor Racing and a few others are bigger than boxing but it has been becoming more popular in recent times.

There have only been a handful of stars as big as Floyd in boxing history. I think boxing is doing fine. Joshua vs Wilder, Golovkin vs Canelo 2, Thurman vs Spence and Pacquiao vs Crawford are all fights that can happen next year and be massive events, with the winners ascending to the next level of stardom
