Dreamcast= BEST SYSTEM EVER. It still goes up against and still in someways better than todays consoles

It was way ahead of it's time, and started a new revolution in gaming.
The reason it died was because of the PS2's ability to play DVD's, which is sad. I never really cared about playing DVD's on a console, in fact, I've never watched a DVD on a PS2, ever. If I wanted to watch a DVD, I would buy a nice quality DVD player. People should buy consoles for gamplay, not for the ad-ons.

At that time, VHS media was the main source of video media and people had to choose if they really wanted to give up VHS. But it was a good strategy in the PS2's part.
When the PS2 was launched in Japan, the virtually non-existing DVD market heavily skyrocketed overnight. The main source of video media in Japan was VCD. The Japanese were happy with VCD's and didn't feel the need to switch to DVD. But when the PS2 came out, that all changed. So that's the reason for the Dreamcast's death.

You can play copied games without a chip, but you may need a boot disk, which is easy to obtain. I love my Dreamcast and I will never give it up.

I thought DC was good too. I wish I still had it now that I know about this underground ****. Thats cool it can play nes roms, if I would have known that I would have never given it away. My favorite games on DC were

              NBA on NBC
              Fishing (With the pole controller)
              Virtua Tennis
House of the Dead (With 2 guns)

Do they have a fishing controller for PS2?

                the fighting games like
                streetfighter vs capcom 2
                were the best
but othe rthen that they sucked
the main reason the dc died wasnt dvds
it was just that not many developers were interested in it
so not many quality games were made for it

That is one of the reasons, just not the MAIN reason. If you notice how the growth of DVD was during the inception of the PS2 (especially in Japan), it's safe to say that had alot to do with the DC's demise (or shall I say, exile from the mainstream).

BTW, DC had some of the best games ever made. Those good games usually weren't promoted well and failed commercially. Japan gave birth to some great DC games never released in the US. Fire Pro Wrestling for the DC is probably the best wrestling game ever, even with it's cartoonish graphics.

The reason DC died was because Sega pulled the plug. DC was making a killing in the US, but was pretty much dead in Japan. The United States HQ begged them to keep the system going, but they killed it anyway.
