  • Vanes martirosyan got played by the WBC

I heard an interview with Vanes and he clarified the whole situation with the WBC. He wanted to fight Lara but the WBC refused to put in writing that the fight would be a Final Eliminator for the Alvarez shot and Vanes thought that if it's not in writing and they don't live up to their word by giving him the fight, if he beats Lara no one else is gonna wanna fight him because he would be considered too dangerous, high risk low reward type fighter.

So we can blame WBC for not officially putting it in writing, all they had to do was make it official that this fight was an eliminator. Vanes said that his fight with Roman was supposed to be the Eliminator but when he later checked Boxrec it said semi final eliminator, instead of just eliminator and he realised he got played by the WBC. For the Lara fight he didn't want it to happen again so he needed it in writing from WBC but they refused.

First off Vanes has pulled this BS before. It was semi-eliminator meaning he had to win just to get to the FINAL eliminator bout which would have been against Kirkland. Did people forget the meaning of semi-final?

Whats Vanes fascination with the WBC belt? There are other belts that he could fight the good fights for. Vanes on some BS just the WBC is on some BS. Vanes needs to realize you can't BS a richer more powerful BS'er than you!!!

Well he said he would fight Lara anytime as long the world sees in writing that it would be the final eliminator for the Alvarez shot. Because if he beat Lara, he'd be the most ducked fighter at 154 so without confirmation of the Alvarez shot he could be left in limbo..

Well Vanes said when he sees Sulaiman at the next show he's going to take his silver WBC belt, hand it back to him and tell him "find someone else to play your games".. or something like that..

the way he was talking it seems 100% legit.. if WBC refuse to put it in writing it means that they probably won't stick to what they say..

So, instead of getting exposure and possibly beating a top fighter, Vanes is going to sit on the sideline and do nothing? What sense does that make? Even if beating Lara didn't lead to Alvarez right away, it would be awesome exposure and lead to some big fights. If Vanes doesn't take this fight, what is he planning on doing that would actually help his career? It's stupid to put so much on one fight(alvarez)

At this point Canelo is not gonna fight a low reward opponent, he's in line to face either Floyd or Cotto. Vanes needs to forget about fighting him, he needs to build his career by either winning a title or beating a top contender.

I can respect Vanes giving back a belt he should never gotten or received anyway. WTF a silver belt he played hisself with that move. Why play a 2 year waiting game when he could have been going for other belts? Nobody cares about or recognizes a silver belt. So Vanes could never say he didn't go fight for another organizations main belt because he didn't want to be stripped of a BS silver belt. Vanes is mad that he hasn't been given this the way Canelo has. Some people have to work for what they get and some folks get born into the great life like Paris Hilton for example.

It sounded to me like the main issue is that the WBC already went back on their word before, and now they were saying once again it would be an Eliminator but Vanes doesn't believe them this time unless it's in writing. It's really an issue between Vanes and WBC, if the WBC are proposing that the fight's an Eliminator for Alvarez, the winner of the Vanes v Lara is going to make a much bigger purse against Alvarez. Why don't they put it in writing? They lied before, they'll do it again and this is why Vanes wants it to be made official.

This is the WBC we are talking about. Canelo didn't have to fight his way into the title and neither did Chavez Jr.

Look how they have had Martinez jumping through hoops to get a shot against Jr. and now its Vanes and Kirkland having to fight all the top guys to get a shot while Canelo is taking low risk fights.

Vanes should had fought top guys to make a case for himself but simply defending his ranking and his zero is not enough.
