Why do boxers fight a bunch of cans for an inflated, unbelievable, hype, fake record?

You just joined boxingscene and already making dumb threads. It’s called experience. Name a sport where the best face the best every week?

Only "Boxingscene forum promoters" think a promoter is looking for the hardest fight for his boxer
Or "let me see who has the best shot at beating my fighter"

There is too much emphasis put on building certain fighters up that are deemed valuable by a promoter who's taken an interest in him usually.
I think boxing would be more fun & definitely more competitive if fights at all levels were matchmade better. There'd be fewer pretty records, but there'd be better fighters & the cream would rise to the top quicker & the frauds would be outta the game quicker.

Only in boxing do we gotta wait 2-6 years usually to see a guy in a competitive fight & almost never is that because he was the #1 guy by a mile the whole time.

Wilder was a 200lb HW in the amateurs, AJ fought at SHW in the amateurs.
Calling Ortiz old or a drug cheat doesn't change the fact that he's arguably the BEST southpaw heavy of all time. He's obviously way better than guys like Moorer or Sanders, champions from the 90's and 00's.
