sr is one of the best trainers of the era because he taught floyd mayweather how to fight. that's just the reality, when you train maybe the best pure and defensive boxer ever you don't need a super deep stable.

but i can't imagine a young guy gettinga lot of out him now. roach even more so. these guys are so depleted from boxing that they can't offer coherent advice and only serve a particular "role" to these all time great fighters who have aged and aren't goign to learn anything new.

FFS roach can hardly talk or hold mitts anymore. god bless him, he's a hall of fame trainer and responsible for manny pacquiao being manny pacquiao. but the guy can't talk and i can't imagine a young fighter getting a lot out of him.

freddie and mayweather sr are 2 very knowledgeable trainers. i just hope they didnt have the ego and hatred they do with each other because i would love to hear mayweather's sr real opinion on manny, etc. and the same for roach.

a lot of time, both trainers hold back or dont wanna say the truth just because they dont like the trainer of that fighter, etc. you can tell mayweather sr respect pac just by him even showing up and being there. but we will never hear how he really feels because of his hate for roach.

physically they are not in the best shape but you dont really need to be as long as you can still give out instructions and tell their fighters what to do during trainer, etc. which they both can still do very well. roach and floyd sr can still offer a lot to these fighters. but like i said, the ego and the hate gets n the way.
