  • Comments Thread For: Arum: Haymon Only Promoter Who Won't Work With Others

Bob Arum couldn't have been more pleased to have delivered the type of big fight his star welterweight pupil, Terence Crawford had long craved. The Hall of Fame promoter and his Top Rank team were able to secure the services of Amir Khan for an April 20 welterweight title fight to air live on ESPN Pay-Per-View. It meant reaching across the aisle and having to work with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, with whom Khan entered a three-fight agreement more than a year ago.

He's also got most of the talent, Bob. No one is dumb enough to believe that if Bob had Thurman, Pacquiao, Porter, Spence, and Garcia and Haymon just had Crawford, that Bob would be desperate to reach out to Al to get Haymon's fighter a fight with one of his guys. Comical, really.

So D. Garcia turned down Crawford? Probably wise, that's a fight he can't win. But for a Khan fight to be ppv, that's not wise. It may not sell well.

Gayman and PBC have the biggest roster in boxing, yet we're mostly getting bs fights, still to this day! Remember when pbc first launched? They had a few good fights and A LOT of garbage ones? Seems like some things never change. At least theyre not on bounce tv anymore, smfh

Arum did the same thing. Only had his fighters fighting each other which is why you got Bradley vs Pacman 3 F***ING TIMES!!!

            Arums so bitter towards Haymon

I guess Arum forgot Haymon and him made the May /PAC fight or the times he sent his fighters ( Molina and Diaz ) over to fight Crawford

Why would a person in Haymons position who now has 2 networks and lots of dates and $ send over his top talent over to a rival network to showcase them l. I don’t see Arum in a rush to send over his top fighters to other platforms

Don't be so sure. There is a good number of people that have been threatened since Haymon launched PBC. SO they will believe anything that makes PBC look like the entity responsible for the political divide in boxing.

You do realize that PBC has had a stronger schedule of fights than Top Rank and Goldenboy for some years now right??

so then call haymon out for doing the same thing arum would be doing if he's in the same position like you stated.

Did Wilder, one of PBC biggest stars, fight a Warren fighter just last month in a voluntary fight that was 50/50? I don't see Arum in a rush to put Gilberto's belt on the line with one of PBC's 168lb guys. Or send Shakur over to fight any PBC 126lb guys either.
