What they decided was that all players will either stand for the anthem or stay in the locker room.

Teams will be fined if players are on the field and kneeling.

The statement says they support the causes of the players. However it says that kneeling has given the impression that they are unpatriotic, though the comissioner does not believe that this was the intention.

I think that's too much. Offending people should not impact the game itself.

I think penalties for celebration are dumb too while we're at it. But those don't seem to be done that much these days.
