Barrera if anything is more known than Beterbiev but he's supposed to take a 25% split?

Nobody is going to accept that split when Beterbiev is no more of a draw than they are.

        1. Beterbiev could've fought Kovalev last year but wasn't ready. Instead he's trying to fight an eliminator for the belt that Kovalev had.

        2. He wants guys to fight him for free

          3. They go with the rules in place and take advantage of Main-Events total incompetence to run a business deal... Not their fault and Business is Business...

Beterbiev is the IBF's top contender; if Barrera was to ever get another shot at a light heavyweight world title, it's most likely to be through becoming mandatory for a shot (Andre Ward has three of the belts, and he beat Barrera in his first test fight at 175).

For as "more known than Beterbiev" Barrera is, there's literally no path to another big payday for Barrera without Beterbiev.

Yes, you take the 25% of the bid, and you hope against hope that your ability ends up being better than what Beterbiev is able to bring on fight night

Barrera is ranked in all the orgs. He has other routes to get a title shot.

If Ward ducks the Kovalev rematch, Barrera is a likely opponent HBO would want for Kovalev, and he won't duck him like Beterbiev.

No one is ducking Beterbiev. $62k is not a reasonable purse for Barrera for this fight.

Not fighting a guy because he brings no money is not ducking him, it's the business side of boxing.
