I think he has done well so far with GGG, most trainers nowadays talk too much. don't really know if those old school trainers of the 70's talk trash (Futch/Amato etc) but we now live in an age where social media exist. So all these trainers are going to be heard from a lot more than usual.

On the otherhand, Canelo's trainers trained him since he was a teen. They truly KNOW him.

All Abel Sanchez has done is make GGG abandon his Olympic skills and instead fight a 1970s "Mexican Style". That has given GGG some cool knock outs against bums, but against the true elites like Canelo, it will lead to GGG getting KTFO.

In the Jacobs fight, Abel Sanchez failed to give GGG any advice on how to adjust vs Jacobs, other than stupid generic statements like"don't go crazy on me". Jacob's trainer on the otherhand gave Jacobs specific, useful advice. This is why GGG started well, but Jacobs took over the 2nd half.

In the corner Abel sounds extremely insecure and unsure of himself, when he talks he sounds like a little girl looking for GGG's approval. That is NOT what u want in a trainer.

This saturday night, Abel Sanchez won't have anything valuable to offer GGG once Canelo starts adjusting and countering him, other than be his yes-man and towel boy.

But Abel Sanchez won't care, because he is getting a fat ass check from cashing GGG out. This is why he looks so relaxed. Abel knows he ain't **** as a trainer and that this is the end of the road for GGG, but at least he himself will be getting paid.
No, you didn't know him because your a casual with limited knowledge of the sport and no respect for the people in it.

Abel has trained around 15 world champs and most of those were way before GGG. Ever heard of Terry Norris? Of course you haven't. He's in the Hall of fame and was a pound for pound player for a number of years.

I totally agree. Abel Sanchez just had a top, top fighter fall into his lap. There are trainers out there who could have made Gennady Golovkin even better.

Playing the Virgil Hunter corrupts John Skully and John David Jackson game is getting more and more in vogue .

He's basically a hispanic version of Freddie Roach. An average trainer who got lucky more than anything and is also an annoying compulsive attention whore.
