When Nard was younger he could just bully a guy, ie the Kieth Holmes fight.

      Sticking with HW's

Best boxer has to be Muhammad Ali

Swarmer - Smoking Joe Frazier without a doubt

Slugger - Clearly Big George Foreman.

      Straight forward picks imo

        Bernard is a boxer-swarmer.

        Louis is THE boxer-puncher.

Isn't Robinson a BOXER-puncher due to his tendency to get into it? He knew he could afford to with his firepower and iron chin.

          Slugger: Wilfredo Gomez

          Bantamweight:

          Boxer: Jofre
          Swarmer: Harada
          Slugger: Gomez

IMO, Bazooka is the GOAT slugger. Any thoughts?
Only really became a slugger in the 80s when he changed his style, he was more of a boxer puncher in his prime, I'd say Jofre was more of a swarmer type then a boxer as well, Brown, Lionel Rose, Chandler and probably a few other names would be bettrer suited

            There are 4 styles:

            Boxer: Defensive and skilled

            Slugger: Large and Heavyhanded

            Swarmer: Fast and powerful

Brawler: Gritty and tenacious (Margarito, Holyfield, Vitali)

just shows you how great that era was to have 3 of the best at that time. I would still consider tyson more of a swarmer tho, so i would have him just above frazier but frazier is definitly the better example of a swarmer. I think the heavier the weight the clearer these styles are

I usually call brawlers "warriors" though, for their tendency to go toe to toe like Holyfield, Cotto, Gatti.

I wouldn't rate Duran a slugger, he was far more than that.

The challenge this thread presents is to classify fighters into three basic categories of styles. On a P4P basis and by default, Duran was assigned to the slugger category. His versatility makes it very difficult to pigeon-hole, as he's exibited all three categories in one fight or another - vs Moore (boxer), vs Leonard (Swarmer/brawler) vs Cuevas (slugger) - to name a few.
