spit the cokc out already. Does your dumb azz believe that a welterweight is ever A level competition for a middle weight. I see where that fits your agenda but is borderline ******ed
But I think fury was, and he was a legit 1 or 2 contender in his prime.... doesn't wlad get credit for fighting top guy in his prime?
eeermmmm...I dunno man. I've rated Fury a lot over the years but I'm not sure if I am willing to label him as A level, for me that means someone who is truly elite and I'm not sure if Fury is that level. Yet.
Switch back to the blow dude, crack rock might be too much.
Floyd never fought anyone good in their prime?
Genaro Hernandez?
Diego Corrales?
Jose Luis Castillo?
Ricky Hatton?
Miguel Cotto?
Canelo Alvarez?
You can easily argue JMM was prime too when he fought Floyd.
genaro hernandez in his last fight was prime? hardly. also not a great fighter.
hatton was terrible at 147 but ok great win??
cotto was prime when floyd ducked him in 2007-8. 5 years later and 2 savage beatdowns and cotto was much more docile which favored floyd. when cotto put the pressure on floyd we saw what happened. complete beatdown, but he was no longer that type of fighter and floyd knew this.
canelo sure but he was drained.
corrales, castillo, and a drained canelo and this guy is the best ever? hardly. he had a chance to be among the greats but he preferred to play it safe.
Pacquiao: Bradley 1 and 2.
Rigo: Donaire
Gonzalez: Estrada and Cuadras.
Canelo: Erislandy Lara
DSG: Keith Thurman (I consider Keith A- level)
Kovalev: Andre Ward
Bernard Hopkins: Sergey Kovalev
Andre Ward: Kovalev
Who else?
First thing that came to mind was Floyd vs Ortiz, Ghost, Canelo, and Marcos. What stands out to me, is the age gap and staggering 15lb weight advantage against them. Imagine SRL at the same circumstantial disadvantages against the same me, he would get beat df up. In fact no fighter in history at those disadvantages, would humiliate them like that.

P4p elite, fury is nowhere near it..
But just within a division I think at heavyweight he is... or at least was, I doubt he ever does anything remarkable in the ring again..
I do give props to wlad, fighting fury, getting beat, and coming right back vs Joshua, with a long layoff inbetween..
Off topic but I wish more champs were like wlad.. he fought povetkin, Haye, fury, and now Joshua. I think he has faced more tests this decade than any other champ
