I got a Windows phone today.

Got an upgrade today, went with a HTC 8X windows phone. Very impressed so far, only ever had androids in the past. Layout looks slick, its easy to use, responsive etc.

I know there's a few phone buffs on here, did i make the right choice?

I had a windows phone about 2/3 years ago for a very brief time. I didn't like it at all. Too limited for me. At that time the App Store they had sucked. Not enough apps. Maybe it grew significantly by now. I don't think I'll ever go back to Windows or iOS. I had an iPhone 5 for like a week. Not gonna bash here it but in very nice terms "it wasn't for me at all". I'm sticking to my Samsung Galaxy S III for a while.

Yeah the Galaxy is the phone of choice atm from what ive seen. No way im affording those prices as a student though...

I think the Windows app store is getting much bigger now. The Lumia got good sales and more people are getting windows phones. Havent fully explored it yet mind

I am sure you could have got the S3 second hand at a good price. Once a phone is used, the value drops loads. My boss got his I phone 5 for 350. I have seen on gumtree 2nd hand S3 for 300 but gumtree is dodgy at times.

Then what you could do is get a cheap line rental?

As for windows phones, I here they are good. I am finding windows 8 to be decent, however if i click the news pins, my laptop is a little too slow for it to pop up asap. If the phones are like windows 8 with good apps then it came be too bad.

I wanted to go windows phone but the apps and battery life arent there.

I went from a iphone to galaxy 3 to galaxy note 2 in about 1 week



Galaxy note is possibly the best phone ive ever owned Treo being a close second.
