that's only because Ward is training a different sport. He's not doing boxing. He's clinching. Holding and hitting. which are both illegal but due to home ref and judges, he somehow got a decision in a boxing ring.

      it was a disgrace.

      it is what it is.

So holding and hitting (unless you're holding someone's head down) isn't an illegal tactic. If I can hit you, then you can hit me because obviously we have a hand free. Refs break it up when there is no action or when both arms are tied up. There are rules to boxing and then there are people who complain when they don't know the rules of boxing. Learn more, type less.

Watch fights if one arm is free, refs always let you box out. This isn't rocket science if you've seen boxing before then you know. Your beloved kell brook did it frequently vs porter

never was a fan of brook. so i don't even know where that straw reach came from.

i see the fight and Ward repetitively dove head first into the clinch and rabbit punching the ribs with the other hand holding.

                  it's all on film.

charging in head down..... with a clinch.

                    headbutt hits. illegal.

then throw arms up to grapple. illegal.

                    then hold and punch. illegal.

                    rinse and repeat.
