Although specific details are unclear at this time, we're told that the case was "thrown out" earlier today. The news comes just one day after Golden Boy Promotions founder Oscar De La Hoya was arrested for a DUI.

Back in May of 2015, De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions announced it had filed the $300 million lawsuit against Haymon and his business en******, alleging multiple violations of antitrust laws and the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act. After more than a year of different motions, depositions, and interesting findings in the discovery phase, including a series of emails between a Golden Boy employee and a reporter who used racist slurs to refer to Haymon, it appeared that both sides were gearing up for a March showdown in court. According to our sources, however, that trial showdown will no longer be taking place now that the case has been dismissed.

Did Top Rank get a settlement payment? All I heard is that Haymon agreed to drop the exclusive rights in their contracts with the networks that blocked other promoters from being on those networks. Basically Golden Boy's lawsuit which was then carbon copied by Top Rank lead to them getting the ESPN deal which doesn't happen if they don't file the lawsuit. Top Rank got nothing out it at least Golden Boy got ESPN.

Dismissed with prejudice means it is over and can't be brought back, without prejudice means it is done for now but possible for it to come back but probably in a different form.

Means the case can be brought again. Dismissed with prejudice means the case can't be brought again. I might have them mixed up so double check but i'm pretty sure I'm right

It's over. Damn near 2 years of lawyer fees and the case didn't even get to trial. It's over.

They could bring it exactly the same but they would likely be wasting their time and money because it did get dismissed for a reason, so either they need to figure out a new angle with it or find a much friendlier judge to their cause.

GBP should focus on their product though Haymon can't hurt them much anymore, so time for them to move on and handle their business.
