Stunned by Vikas Krishan's ouster from the Olympic Games following a reversal of decision by the International Boxing Association, Indian Chef-de-Mission P.K. Muralidharan Raja on Saturday said the country's contingent will not take AIBA's decision lying down even though it has 'limited options' in the matter.

Exactly...certain styles don't translate well into the pros...although supremely talented guys can adjust...

Tyson didn't have a great amateur style...Mark Breland had a stellar amateur career but didn't have a standout pro career...

If you honestly believe that Olympic success will translate into professional success, then you need to stop posting right now.

mark breland was a two time world champion fighting in a excellent era for his division. its looked at as a dissapointment bcuz of how highly touted he was when he turned pro but those expectations were just too big for any fighter. ppl were saying he would become the goat and whatnot, no shame falling short of those kind of expectations.

breland was perhaps the best amateur ever but he was a good pro as well. i agree that some styles translate better to pro or amateur boxing but the bottom line is if you are a good amateur you will probably make a good professional and the same technical skills that made breland an olympic gold medalist made him a two time world champion as a pro.

the amateur system is about skills, its about boxing ability. since the pro ranks are more physical there are some aspects that arent included in the amateur ranks but that doesnt mean the skills you need as an amateur doesnt apply to pro boxing too. to say they just know how to fight in the olympic system like those skills dont apply to pro boxing is bull****.

tarver, mayweather, ward, DLH, whitaker etc were all great amateurs bcuz they had great boxing skills and those same skills is what made them great professionals. sure there are others aspects to pro boxing that arent as important as an ameteur but that doesnt mean the skills you do have as an amateur doesnt mean anything as a pro.

the reason america isnt producing any good amateurs is bcuz they dont produce as many good technical fighters anymore. they could make good pros but they will have to be more brawler type fighters to make up for their lack of boxing skills.

Mark may have fought in an excellent era but it doesn't really mater if you don't fight anyone. In other words who did he fight? His best win was over Lloyd Honeyghan and a highly disputed draw with Starling that I thought he lost.

I dont know why India crying, their sports men are horrible.

Michael Phelps has more Olympic Medals than all of Indian History, this is a population of 1billion +. China on the other hand is eating it up. Diffirence between lazy imperialism and Communism.

Sitting on Ass vs Working for it. I wonder who will win!

Indian dude lost that fight big time, he was just holding on for dear life
