You can't just look at the main-event fighters salaries because the UFC payout isn't structured the same. The undercard fighters in UFC make A LOT more money than the undercard fighters in boxing.

Also, perspective needs to be had here. People need to realize that the UFC(and mma in general) is as popular as it is because of what the Fertita Brothers(not Dana) have done. They are the reason that the UFC is getting as many PPV buys as it is right now. If it weren't for them, MMA fighters would be lucky to make $1000 per fight. Their TUF reality show and many other ideas is 90% of the reason the UFC is as big as it is right now. Not because of Silva, or St.Pierre, or Penn. It's the Ferttitas.

So mma fighters are not owed millions of dollars, because unlike in boxing, the popularity of mma right now is mostly due to the UFC brand and not the individual MMA fighters themselves.
UFC 46 sold 80,000 ppv buys

Vitor Belfort headlined the card and got $130,000

UFC 117 sold 1,000,000 ppv buys

Anderson Silva headlines the card and gets $200,000

Tell me somethin aint messed up about that lol The P4P BEST fighter only gets $200,000

UFC 116 paid $923,000 to all its fighters while selling 1,100,000 PPV buys and making $4,000,000 on the live gate. There is over $50,000,000 going somehwere else other than the fighters and now that is bull !!!

I agree that Dana underpays his fighters but Anderson and Chael made more money than just their salaries. Silva got an extra $60,000 for "submission of the night" and Anderson and Chael would have got another 60K each for "fight of the night".

Plus the sponsors. But yeah, Dana should pay his guys more.

How do you start off with such a stupid statement that's refuted in the post you replied to?

JMM ($1.2M) and Diaz ($540K) alone made more than the 1.5 payout that the entire UFC card made and they only sold 150-200K PPV buys.

The second bolded is also completely wrong and is refuted in the same damn post you replied to because I put Danny Jacobs made $200K for his fight against Pirog that's more than any MMA prospect/fighter fighting on an undercard or co-feature has ever made.

Fighters on boxing PPV undercards get paid right around the same as undercard MMA fighters and more. Jacobs $200K, and unknown Russian in Pirog got $50,000, Robert Guerrero $75,000, Joel Casamayor $50,000, Linares $30,000, Juarez $45,000.

When 5/6 of the fighters on an undercard are making over $45,000... How is that "A LOT" more? And Juarez is coming off back to back to back losses, Linares was only 1 fight removed from a KO loss, same with Casamayor.

How many people have to tell it over and over again?

They're getting more under the table then reported to the AC. They do this to stimie competition. They also get bonuses and sponsorship money
