... unfortunately, this happened during the World Boxing Super Series tournament... If not a proper (rules-based) solution is reached, WBSS would be done...

That fight should be NC and no fight should be ever sanctioned in Latvia.

felt breidis would've won anyway but that was not a real win. if glowacki refused to get up from the elbow does he get dq'd by Byrd?

NC would be fair but don't want things held up by an immediate rematch, put glowacki-makabu on the undercard of the final, maybe we get a rematch down the line if the results lead that way

The WBC did try to sanction the fight @ the last min. They failed to do so was and is my understanding. The Fight was org Sanctioned by the WBO yet they pulled out as well. You won't see photos of Bredis after the fight with belts. When (2) sanctioning bodies pull out of same fight for same reason and this happens. Its 100% the WBSS fault for manipulating the fight and it's outcome. Basically fixing the fight. Cant get behind WBSS tournament from here on in, its rigged. Two belts could of been at stake yet WBSS is so shady none were that's outrages. That's a major fail. Straight corruption. This is not going to be the end of this, if the sanctioning body want any credibility going forward. Fat shady

... in case WBO really pulled out from sanctioning this fight as well, then it all hangs on WBSS... and in case they don't rule it a NC, then they're done (totally, in full, actually, a.s.o.) ...

... anyway, WBSS wasn't favored by the "big promoters", in the first place... WBSS isn't U.S. based... WBSS is backed only by DAZN...

Didn't the WBC back out from the fight because of disagreement with how the officials were selected ?

Were we all aware at the time they did this that Adalaide Byrd was going to be a judge (and her husband the referee) ?

No idea what the WBC's beef was with the officiating, but a pretty good case right there to say 'to hell with this!'

As for how Byrd should have handled it in a perfect world, shouldn't he have given BOTH Briedis and Glowacki a warning (deduction 2 points from each if he wanted to, but maybe not given it was equal), Glowacki for the punch to the base of the skull and Briedis for the retaliating elbow, then given BOTH 5 minutes to recover ?

Then the fight would have resumed once everyone had calmed down and no controversy (well, assuming Robert didn't screw up again, and until Adalaide Byrd's scorecard was read if it went 12).

WBSS is embarrassing at this point if they let this result continue. Not like anybody was paying attention to any of these fights to begin with. Free dazn highlights on youtube as all anybody needs.

Well, real boxing fans did pay attention and before the fiasco last saturday, every boxing fan should have supported the tournament.

Two or three yearly tournaments involving mostly top boxers which ends in a final between two top guys?
Only boxing fans wouldnt care about this lmao.
