Um, it's not always been successful teaching my 2 yr old grandson to "chew" gum. Not exactly sure how much he has swallowed over the past few months....

How many has he eaten? Perhaps swap to chewy mints?

It should just go right through, although if you're really giving him a lot then there's an outside chance it could bind together and cause constipation apparently.
