He was a star anyway, people who didn’t even watch boxing (like my dad) watched Naz. He ruled his division, beat 9 current, future or former world champions and was the boxer that brought big money to the lower divisions, he made £40m 20 years ago and Wilder probably hasn’t made that yet

Yet some on here say he never beat anyone, probably because they DKSAB and only read about the Barrera fight. Naz was massively overweight just before that fight after smashing his hand KO’ing Augie Sanchez the year before. No excuses, he had a relatively short peak and was capable of achieving even more than he did.

Lol you come up with excuses as to how he got beat and then say "No Excuses" lol.

He did beat some good fighters, but we all know Barerra was the fight. In the UK everyone had their eye on Barerra, we all knew (even naz) that that was the fight..and he blew it. It's his own fault he could not adjust and come back and win more world titles, which I think he could have. It's always been crazy to me to think that naz was ill prepared for the fight of his life. I don't buy it. Naz whole thing was confidence and when The Baby faced assassin taught him real boxing skills it was a very hard thing for him to accept, and he quit.

So what you are saying is nas had it easy in his own time??? 👍😃

if anything you just argued why nas would fizzle into obscurity in this generation.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

          nas is a cautionary tale....

          Who did he duck? Marquez?

          Classic Matchup: Marquez vs. Hamed

According to most boxing experts, if a prime Nas had fought Marquez in the late '90s, Nas would've beaten him.

It's also worth noting that Nas was mostly responsible for putting UK PPV on the map. He was the first real PPV star on Sky Box Office, with his fights selling between 500,000 to 800,000 buys, back in the days when only several million UK homes had Sky TV. He was the biggest UK PPV star up until Ricky Hatton.

Many boxing fans today are ignorant about the featherweight division of the '90s. They don't know much about the featherweight boxers and champs of that era, so they assume the boxers and champs that Nas beat were nobodies. Which says more about their own ignorance than it does about his record.

                Dan Rafael: Hamed by KO
                Kieran Mulvaney: Hamed by decision
                Nigel Collins: Hamed by decision
                Eric Raskin: Marquez by decision
                Brian Campbell: Hamed by decision
                Bernardo Pilatti: Marquez by KO
                Salvador Rodriguez: Hamed by decision

Only two of these experts think Marquez would've won, whereas the other five experts think Nas would've won. Remember that this was back in the late '90s, before Marquez peaked. A prime Nas would've most likely beaten a pre-prime Marquez in the late '90s.
