Well Filipino's like most of South East Asia is very diverse and can't really claim
just one culture or ethnic group. Filipino's like mention before are a mix of Arab,Chinese,Austronesian,Indonesian and Malaysian and we have Pacific Islander and Spanish to a certain degree. So it really is up to the individual what they want to call themselves, the present Filipinos now are like Malaysian,Indonesian,Austronesian and Chinese. I have met Malaysians who were friends with my uncle and they have dialects and certain things they do that have similarities to Filipino culture and that can be the same with the Spanish who brought there culture also. But you have to be careful with some Filipinos who regard the Spanish who gave them names with no meaning.
