Why does Jerry Jones get hate for being the GM of the Cowboys

He was a star RB in high school and a star O-Lineman in college. He's been around the game of football for about 60 years.

He might even have more knowledge than every single GM in the league.

Just cuz he's a billionaire owner, every year ppl question his GM status with the Cowboys. Is the media really that stupid?

Actually Jerry isn't a "football" guy. He's a great business man and a damn good owner but his football decisions have been horrible. Anything that happens in the Cowboys organization goes through him. He has the last word regarding personnel, players and decisions.

Decisions like letting Jimmy Johnson go, drafting Quincy Carter, thinking he was going to be a Mike Vick clone to hiring and firing coaches after a couple of seasons. It all gets put on him because he says so. So Dallas not winning much in nearly two decades fall on him.

As an owner, you want no one else but him. Dallas is the most watched, cheered and profitable team in the NFL. But as a GM, he's no Bill Polian, Jerry Reese, Ted Thompson or Mickey Loomis

The problem with Jerry Jones is that He undermines the power of his head coach. Felix Jones, the back up RB came out of shape and failed the conditioning test at training camp and in many peoples eyes he should of been cut on the spot. He was then on kick off returns and he would never make it past the 15 yard line, coach Garrett said he would look at other options to return kick offs. Well Jerry Jones the following day said that Felix Jones would continue to return kicks and Coach garrett had to go back on what he said the day before.

That in a nutshell is why Jerry will never be successfull as a GM. He also believes that he was the reason he won the super bowls. Just watch this video.

Just look at his football decisions. All that money and he keeps digging a bigger hole for the team. He doesn't care though. The Cowboys are the most profitable team in football with a billion dollar state-of-the-art facility.

yeah but the current Cowboys roster isn't that bad on paper.

though there is no denying Cowboys only winning 1 playoff game in the last 15 seasons is really bad.
