My right shoulder popped out for the first time in August 2011 while sparring in the 3rd round. It was out for maybe 30 seconds to a minute then popped back in. It was really sore the next few days, and I rested it over a month before sparring again. (I am orthodox btw)
The next time I sparred it seemed okay, but was sore afterwards. I sparred again a few weeks after that and it popped out again. It popped back in after only a few seconds, and was sore again for a few days. (I am fine hitting the bags, and mitts. Its seems to only pop out during sparring b/c not every punch lands.)
I asked my uncle about it, who is a doctor in another state. And he emailed me these shoulder exercises that use resistance bands and dumbells. I didn't start doing these excercises until a month ago, when my shoulder started to feel not-so-good even without sparring.
My shoulder feels a little bit stronger. I sparred this week and my shoulder felt like it wanted to come out a couple times but did not. I could feel it move around after missing a couple right hands. It seems like the strength gained from the excercises prevented it from fully coming out. However, it was sore again a couple days afterwards. The kind of soreness where it hurts to move my arm in certain positions.
I don't mind the soreness, as I can recover in a few days. I'd would be actually happy if my shoulder never pops out again and is just sore after every time.
I was just wondering if anyone has had the same experience or knows someone that does. And what can be done to prevent it.
Thanks.
