    David Attenborough is the equivalent of of Stan Lee of narrating wild life and the wilderness.

    And he had been that childhood voice for 2 generations of children.

            I have never liked his shows, just not that into them, especially since learning that a lot of the "wild" sections are filmed in controlled environments BUT he is certainly a broadcast legend and has helped many understand animals better (even if his whole evolution schtick gets a bit much), so it would be sad.
