[PLEASE HELP] What's the best time to buy tickets to sporting events?

I've always just got them early in the past. But I've heard from a lot of folks who say the best bet, particularly if you live nearby where said sporting event is going to take place, is to wait until the very last second. In some cases even the day of the event. Because the secondary sellers are in panic mode and try to offload their tickets at heavily reduced prices as opposed to risk losing them altogether and getting nothing.

Any of y'all have experience in this? Waiting until the last second to get tickets?

Get them after the event finishes...they will be dirt cheap and when you are drunk at the bar...or posting on here...you can pull them out and pretend that you have been to every event in town.
