It was the IBF who called for a purse bid. The two sides may have talked but Hearn was also in discussion with Team Ortiz for the WBC eliminator. No bitsjee move at all just doing his job as a promoter. He put down a small bid & lost. At the same time he got to see what other promoters were willing to bid & obviously it wasn’t enough. They wanted the WBC belt but the WBC made Breazeale the mandatory as the #2 guy while Whyte was #1. The WBC is the only one guilty of making a bitsjee move. So they explored the Pulev fight. If Whyte beats Pulev he is the mandatory but if he beats Parker he gets paid a lot more & is still a top contender across the board with an all-Brit PPV rematch with Joshua on the horizon. Hearn promotes both. Joshua already made his IBF mando last fall & if no Wilder than Povetkin. That will be both his WBO/WBA mandos out of the way leaving either a Wilder fight or that Joshua rematch on a voluntary.

        • As soon as it got tough for Shyte with the WBC (mandated to fight Luis Ortiz) and the IBF (mandated to fight Pulev in Bulgaria) his promoter found a way out for him.

Are all of Eddie Hearn's fighters going to avoid tough fights from now on?

lol. yeah because a win over jennings 5 years ago and pulev winning a decision over a shot delboy chisora are terrifying shows of form

            • Credit to both guys for taking this fight, surely the money played a huge factor, but it's a pretty big risk for both fighters that probably could have gone easier routes. This will be a very competitive fight and I think it will be a great event. Sounds like Brook and Chisora are going to be on this card as well

If they had no intentions of fighting Pulev, then why have the fight to purse offer? That made other parties spend a lot of time in vain. See?

So when Hearn didn’t win the fight, he opted out. That’s about as close to the very definition of a bitsjy that you are going to get!

                • Really good match up this one. For Parker he would elevate himself right back up there really quickly, while Whyte would be recognised by most as #3 in the world with a win.

Not sure where the loser will go but brave n both of them for stepping up, I would put Parker about a 60% favourite in my eyes

He just made his IBF mandatory when he beat Takam last fall. If he doesn’t unify with Wilder after Povetkin an optional defence could be made...
He already lost to Joshua and after he loses to Parker, he'll be done at the top levels and just gatekeeper or a bottom ranked nondescript heavyweight. He is not all that.
