Froch had a brutal KO infront of 80,000 people. Ward had a bizarre Testicular TKO when the scorecards were level infront of a few thousand. Huge difference there.

How is this even a question ?
I agree with you. I thought the ref should have been giving Kovalev the 5 minutes to recover from low blows and giving Ward a warning for throwing them. Maybe Ward would have won even if this had been done but that's an opinion and not a fact.

becuase one guy beat george groves, a guy who'd done very little before and who has done very little since. and ward beat sergey kovalev, a pound for pounder who was arguably the best 175 lber at the time and who had arguably beaten one of the very best SMW of all time in the first fight.

Ward's victory was more significant. He took out the baddest man in the division, while Froch never manned up to challenge Ward again. He ended his career defending his title against a local guy instead of becoming the man of the division.

He doesn't have the desire then to be an all time great which he could have been

ward ddin't just beat kovalev on paper in the second fight. he had him figured out and he beat him up. yeah, the fight ended on a low blow, and the low blows throughout the fight were numerous and should have warranted points and a break for kovalev, but let's not act like ward wasn't beating up kovalev without them, because he was.

a puncher's at a disadvantage in a rematch because the boxer has time to figure him out, has up to 12 rounds to figure out his timing, and gets a fresh start in the second fight. ward was looking like he was setting up a late round knockout or a wide win on points, and any decent boxing fan can see that.

tainted win? sure. just a win on paper? no way. ward beat kovalev up in the second fight.

and FYI this is coming from a guy who was at the first ifght and, along with everybody else in my section and everybody i talked to at every bar and casino i went to after the fight, thought kovalev won.

The history books will show that as a major coup and in your context you make sense so I can see why you'd vote Ward. How ever Frochs night at Wembley. Boom, Blam Lights out!. What a right hand to end it all, in front of....... 80,000.
