Nah it doesn't ruin it for me. They still usually put on a good show which is what it is- a show, IMO.

It does ruin any sport. The whole premise of any sport (baseball, basketball, whatever) is for everyone to try their best to Win the game. Anything less is not acceptable. Thankfully, what you're discussing is (hopefully) extremely rare.

I have to agree here. No fix there. MT didn't take BD seriously, and he got caught. Same with Hasim Rahman KO'ing Lennox Lewis. Or Oliver McCall, KO'ing LL. It's Boxing, it happens.

The most blatantly fixed fights gotta be Holyfield-Lewis 1 then De La Hoya-Sturm.

Both fights where 1 guy dominated and the cards were completely wrong.

It's funny how many people forge the long count. Very obvious and with it being in Japan, that location seemed pretty odd too. Like you say, it was time to cash out.
