MW div is currently messed up because of Canelo. In two weeks time I think the division would have a much clearer path. But Canelo being suspended just put up another road block in the MW division moving forward and keeping the stalemate situation we continue to endure at this time.
The next blame Should fall on the NSAC. Giving Canelo a slap on the wrist six month suspension is just enough time to keep the MW field in a status quo stall. Had they given Canelo a full year, then we would see unification fights and mando fight being made, or at the very least, a formulated path towards progress within the MW div. The NSAC has done the MW division as well as the sport a disservice by giving Canelo the minimum punishment Six months. As a seasoned veteran and champion, he really has no excuse for being caught with illegal PED's in his system and he should have received a full year for his negligence whether the clenbuterol was intentional or accidental .

Indeed, a year suspension would have prevented some guys from waiting on the sidelines for a paycheck and/or a title shot!

everything with you is about Pro or anti GGG, is it?

in talking about unified champions in general and how mandatories should be handled in the future.
switch golovkin with Joshua or the future winner of usyk/gassiev to not make it about golovkin.

and please tell me what is so unrealistic about it.

would you like to have the most deserving mandatories or just a bunch of mandatories who don't have the incentive to risk it against good opponents?

when there was one belt, mandatories were necessary to stop the champion from ducking the most deserving challenger. that's not the case nowadays right?

the same thing happened when the klitschkos head the belts. none of the contenders were fighting against each other and wanted to risk a possible fight against klitschko, because it was way too easy to become mandatory.

I do realize it but first of all my post was about unified champions in general and wasn't specific to golovkin. those problems with 3 mandatories will arise for everyone who is going to target unifications.
there won't just be any incentive for possible challengers to risk their spot by fighting tough fight. if it is a requirement to fight good opponents aka the other mandatories you will 1) get better fights between challengers and 2) more deserving mandatories.

regarding your point. that's another problem and you won't get rid of it without getting rid of the sanctioning bodies.
with 4 belts plus the wba super, you will have 8(10) possible fighters who can fight for those belts.
it's not logically possible with how the alphabet belts are running things at the moment to always have good fighters fight for those belts.
so just regard those champions as belt holders.

Example: Charlo could have dropped his fight with Centino and waited two weeks to fight GGG and that would have been a PPV worthy fight. Charlo would have easily made enough money to pay off Centino regardless if he won or lost. Instead, team Charlo was mum about that option,.......see excuse #2 above. The same silence Charlo was last night when no mention of Daniel Jacobs came up,....even after he got stutter-fumbled a few weeks ago.
Derevyanchenko was ready and willing to fight Golovkin on May 4.

You can't blame Canelo for Lil G choosing to face Vanes instead.

There were better opponents who were ready and willing to fight Golovkin on short notice.
Well GGG fought the top 2 guys before that, so it’s not that bad actually.

Hopefully he takes Saunders in September. Fck Clenelo. Let him qualify against these new guys.

                your solutions were

                1. Go back to one belt

                2. Require sanctioning bodies to mandate fights against other sanctioning body mandatory's

Both of those solutions are unrealistic. Boxing is never going back to one belt and you know this. Sanctioning bodies don't work that way and you also know that. You're proposing radical unrealistic solutions just to benefit GGG. You want to flip the boxing world upside down just for GGG.

                  2) Canelo, 49-1-2

But yea if there was only 1 belt then yea being in the top ten at all would have a lot more value. And being any spot among the top 2, 3 or 4 ranked guys would have some nice value too.
                  Where is Andrade???

Boxrec can have decent rankings too.

This is what GGG and most boxing fans hated a few years ago, keeping a man waiting when he is the mando for a belt. "Strip him", " drop the belt" they said.

If Canelo comes off a year of not fighting along with the knee surgery and fights GGG, that will be amazing but I doubt that happens so GGG better start figuring out who he will fight among those mandos or Saunders.
Because you had guys hiding behind a tiny belt or the lineage.

GGG hold 3 belts and is chasing the lineage (Nelo) and the WBO belt (BJS), he will never satisfy all his mandos, challenges and haters because it is just not possible.

Charlo was not a mando yet. He had to beat centeno. Now he is a mando. So shut up.
