If a punch doesn't have enough power to penetrate someone's chin, then it can't really be considered sufficiently 'hard' and 'effective'.

This was the case with GGG. GGG's punches were more effective more frequently because he was forcing Canelo Alvarez to back up more frequently than vice versa.

Those early rounds I was definitely impressed how Canelo countered him and landing those body shots. He even body a lot of the left hooks that GGG usually land on other and even when all the ropes he only got caught with one out of like 6 punches that GGG threw at him. This was a great fight and both fighters deserve credit regardless of the outcome.

How about this fun fact? GGG's jabs made Canelo run backwards, but Canelo's best right hander couldn't stop GGG from coming forward. Oh yeah Canelo was so ****ing effective!
