  • Do glass jaws exist in boxing? Post examples of what exemplifies a glassy mandible.

I for one believe glass jaws definitely exist. Here are my examples:

    Danny Jacobs:

    David Price:

    Adonis Stevenson:

Andre Ward (Very well hidden but it's glassy glint can clearly be seen in the mid day sun):

What other notably glassy mandibles are there? I have a strong feeling I have missed someone out......? I wonder who it could be?

Wilder. He got KO'd in the amateurs, floored by Sconier and Nichols, and rocked by Molina.

James Kirkland. Stopped by feather-fisted Ishida, and KTFO by Canelo.

              Price for sure.

He got his legs taken from him by a feather-fisted Tony Thompson and it was an off balance glancing blow.

If Price knelt down, I bet a Hard hitting Bantamweight could spark him.

              Shocking punch resistance.

David Price & Seth Mitchell are both great examples imo.

I think Amir Khan has a glass jaw to, in particular because his chin is like "eff this maaaaaan" while his body is still like "wtf bruh I didn't hear no bell".

I don't think RJJ can be thrown into the glass jaw category. He didn't really start to put down with ease until late in his career. If RJJ had a glass jaw he woulda got KO'd by Ruiz which was 30-35lbs from his peak weight if not others.

I don't see Andre Ward or Manny Pacquiao can be defined as having a glass jaw either. Sure Ward has been down & Pacquiao even has some KO L's, but overall they've both been in with harder punching, more dangerous guys than most of the guys who knocked them down or KO'd Pacquiao.

In our time fighters without and punch resistance can easily be champions or top contenders. It just requires careful matchmaking and is made even easier by split titles.

Pacquiao has the ultimate Glass jaw, this is why his defense is underrated, he can trade blows without really getting hit flush thats an art and amazing skill, he is highly offensive but rarely got hit Flush.

But one hard flush shot will drop him hard or send him flying back, Bradley almost KO him and Rios hurt him bad with a high grazing shot.
