You (democrats herded around like sheep via manipulating your racial phobias) fell for it like you fall for everything. Like they tried to pull on Assad. Like you're falling for the current scapegoating of Russia.
All they have to tell you is that "bad nazis rednecks" oppose something and you jump onboard.
The biggest extant failures we have of the neocon agenda are the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Neoconservative foreign policy represented a radical break with orthodox theories of foreign policy and international relations, as well as prevailing American diplomatic orthodoxy.
Bush's was a neoconservative regime.
Hillary is a neoconservative. Obama isn't, although neoconservatives had some sway in his administration.
It could well be that disassembling the State Department was actually a good thing which Trump did, although Tillerson's ascension is sort of indicative that this was less Trump's move than it was a move of powerful business interests, with Trump perhaps somewhat willingly abdicating the control.

Russia is a besieged, kleptocratic backwater.
Russia is still a key player in international affairs, but they aren't on a kilter with China, by a long shot.
Russia and China seem to have decent relations at this time. I haven't looked into it much, but I wouldn't doubt it if Russia is selling China plenty of oil and gas, and if plenty of Chinese manufactured goods are being sold in Russia.
Russia is not in a position right now to be a serious economic player, in part because it is so difficult to do business in Russia these days. This in turn is owing much to the political state there.
Sorry to go against your fuhrer on that one, but yeah, closer ties with China are inevitable. America benefits in ways like being able to buy cheaper stuff at Walmart. Overall, China is pretty busy reducing the US to client status. As if Xi Jinping's remarks recently, with Trump there having been summoned to the Chinese court, were not enough indication of this.
