Al Haymon and Jermall Charlo don’t want to schedule the biggest fight Charlo could possibly have! So they’ve figured out away to get out of Charlo being Canelo’s mandatory! Because why would Charlo want a chance at the middleweight champ and the most money he’s ever made? Let’s ignore the fact that the WBC was in communication with Canelo about this plan for months and that the franchise belt benefits him infinitely more than it benefits Charlo, it’s a pbc conspiracy!!!
Its benefits PBC in the sense that Haymon has money which he can pay Charlo to avoid the fight and avoid getting battered and exposed and thus losing yet another of his overrated overhyped frauds.

Charlo being his mandatory was never about fighting Canelo, as that would mean having to beat him for the belt. They were hoping Canelo would vacate and they could fight a hand-selected brick layer as is custom for PBC fighters.

This way Canelo doesnt fight him and expose him and Charlo has the thing he couldnt actually take from Canelo and can defend against Brandon Adams and Centenos as long as he pleases.

It benefits Charlo because instead of having the biggest payday in his life and fighting against the biggest star in boxing, he can fight nobodies and make way less money.

      Makes perfect sense.

Double headed winner. Canelo doesnt have to piss about defending the WBC belt when he wants to make big fights now. But Morris Sillyman can still claim a nice sanctioning fee off what he sees is a real life golden goose.

Then you get Charlo who becomes world champion without having to fight for it. If that is not a win for the PBC i dont know what is. He is not good enough to of won that belt so they just gave it to him. The right thing would of been to of had him fight for it against the number 2 or the higest ranked guy who wanted a go.

WBC loves Canelo but they also have good connections with Haymon, Haymon doesnt want his fighters to fight outside the PBC. They didnt want to give up Luis Ortiz or Kownacki for AJ to fight for all 3 Heavyweight belts. So they surely dont want to give up Charlo to face Canelo on DAZN where Charlo would be a big underdog. So WBC made both of them relatively happy, obviously Charlo himself doesnt know exactly whats going on, but Haymon told him its alright.

Yep. It was to give an Haymon fighter a title. Which he can defend against bums on PBC while avoiding everyone else with "network" excuses.

                1. Haymon would never allow Charlo to fight on DAZN, which would be the only place a Canelo-Charlo fight would be.

                2. Canelo would beat Charlo and Haymon would have one less top fighter.

Giving Charlo the title benefited Haymon and Charlo.

No doubt. Haymon has been trying for years to get a middleweight belt on one of his PBC guys so they can hold it hostage like Wilder.
With GGG and Canelo running the division he had no clear path to do that as his fighters by and large won’t go to another network.
So to keep Haymon happy the WBC created this solution.
This has nothing to do with mandatory’s. The WBC wasn’t going to try and force any fights on Canelo after he sonned then last time.
