Golovkin vs Kirkland????????: K2 reserves Madison Square Garden
According to Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix, K2, Gennady Golovkin's promotional company, has reserved Madison Square Garden (MSG) on April 26 for their middleweight KO artist.

MSG is a pretty big deal so 'GGG' must be fighting someone pretty special.

Could it be James Kirkland (32-1, 28 KOs) ?

Last week, FightSaga hinted HBO was angling for Gennady Golovkin vs James Kirkland on April 26.

If Gennady (28-0, 25 KO) defeats the unheralded Osumanu Adama (22-3, 16KOs) in February, look for Golovkin vs Kirkland to be announced soon thereafter provided Golovkin doesn't suffer an injury.

    Promotional obstacles?

    Not at all...

As Koncrete Jungle states below, there should be no hiccups between K2 and Kirkland's promoter, 50 Cent, who may be making his debut as a major player on the big stage.

Should this bout come to fruition, what are the odds of Golovkin vs Kirkland going the distance?

Kirkland has a bad rep at 160. See that's what I'm saying, Golovkin only fights faded contenders that have been stopped in te past at 160 or he fights good contenders that are junior middle weights. If he's so great why doesn't he have the balls to move up to 168 to get bigger paydays? With that being said Kirkland is such a waste of talent. His punches have been so sloppy lately and his technique has gone out the window. He telegraphs his punches too much cuz he fell inlove with his power. I don't think he will ever be the same Kirkland like back in 2008.

Gennady is going to absolutely batter Kirkland.

It'll be good watching Wolfe cry while Kirkland rolls around in pain on the canvas. He will become a good boy.

Kirkland gets tagged early and gets hurt. GGG Will put him down but finish him off unlike anguelo. Fun while it lasts.

If anything people should root for Kirkland cuz Golovkin is being too much of a pu*sy to move to 168.

I think GGG steamrolls Kirkland and it has nothing to do with the weight as Kirkland is bigger/heavier at 154 on fight night than GGG is at 160. GGG is just a better fighter overall.
