The problem is tainted supplements, Pre work outs are the main off the shelf supplements that contain the banned substances, Whey protein is not really even a supplement, its just powered food/protein, whey is simply the by product in the cheese making process, Some whey proteins come mixed with all kinds of crap in them but the whey its self is not a problem, you can even buy pure whey protein with nothing added at all which is what i use my self because you can buy it cheap in bulk,
Creatine will cause you to hold more water which isn't ideal for people trying to make weight, it dose also have other useful effects that could be effective for boxers, it reduces lactic acid build up for one. Creatine is also found naturally in the body, if you eat a lot of red meat you can saturate your creatine stores with out supplements.
Fish oil will be part of almost every boxers supplement stack along with basic multi vitamins.
Supplements are supposed to be just that supplementing things you are not getting from your diet, Its perfectly possible to get all vitamins, protein etc without multivitamins or whey or fish oil if you eat fish. In fact its actualy even possible to hit all the recommended daily micro nutrient needs without even eating veggies if you know what to eat.Last edited by GodLike; 10-17-2017, 05:12 PM.

Any athlete ingesting a supplement without finding out if it's acceptable first, is an idiot.
Regardless, there's a reason why some Athletes don't declare their "heart medication" and such - because they aren't being used for those purposes. If you're using a masking agent as part of your cycle, by not telling them about it you aren't drawing attention to it - if you don't get caught, you're fine, and if you do get caught, you've got a ready-made excuse to use in court and reduce the severity of the punishment.
Sadly, the supplement industry is just one big marketing machine, and Athletes fall over themselves to find the next great recovery mix or preworkout (who remembers the DMAA boom?). If people stuck to whey, caffeine and maybe creatine, there would be a lot less issues.
Then again, there will always be a massive pool of people who will break the rules looking for more.
